The Skyline Swimming and Diving Team is
ready for another amazing year of improvement! We finally have a
senior class, which joins A committed junior class,
the talented sophomore class and a new class of outstanding freshman. This should
allow us to be competitive in all our dual meets and invitational’s. Expect massive improvement from everyone
throughout the year, and look for the team to be extremely proficient by SEC conference and STATE meet!
This is a GREAT
opportunity for 9th grade athletes to earn a VARSITY LETTER and be
part of a team that has fun, works hard and is gaining respect.

you will be hooked!

Boy’s swimming
and diving is a varsity sport and letters can be awarded to any athlete who makes
swimming and diving their primary sport / activity for the winter.

divers expecting to earn varsity letters must attend all scheduled meets and
accomplish the performance, academic and citizenship criteria. Swim meet absences are acceptable in cases of
illness, acts of God, religious conflicts and academic conflicts that are
directly required to receive coarse credit.
A swimmer or
diver wishing to earn a varsity letter must attend at least 90% of all required

There are
several performance criteria ways in which to earn a swimming and diving
varsity letter. #1) Swim or dive an automatic varsity time / score.
#2) Score in the top 16 at the SEC championships or swim / dive a time / score
that would score if one of Skyline’s other swimmers or divers were not
participating in the meet. #3) Score top 12 at the
Dexter or Howell Freshman invitational’s #4) Score 30 pts in the SEC dual
meets.
It is not easy
to earn a varsity swimming or diving letter, but it is definitely
possible. Those swimmers and divers who receive them know what it means
to work for and earn something important. Freshman may earn a letter
if the above criteria is met! The
majority of freshman do earn varsity letters.
Junior
Varsity Participation
Selection of swimming as a secondary
sport/activity will be permitted as long as the player meets Skyline academic
requirements and is able to attend three practices per week. Junior Varsity athletes will be expected to
swim exhibition events at the home swim meets, but may not travel with the team
to away meets. Swimmers and Divers must have 90%
attendance to travel to away meets.
Pay-to-Participate
A physical,
a student-athlete statement, an emergency card, and athletic participation fee
of $30 must be on file
with the athletic department in order to start practice. There is a
pay-to-participate fee of $150 for a first sport or $75 for a second sport
