Dear Parents,

Welcome to the second season of Skyline Water Polo.  Attached you will find information about our upcoming season including practice and game schedules, the team’s standard operating procedures, basic information on water polo and a list of team members and parents. In order to provide your children with the best possible experience we are going to need your help.  Below please find a list of volunteer positions designed to help the season run smoothly:

Fundraising and Community Service Coordinator:  In time we are going to want to purchase equipment for the team.  Ideally we would have the parents and the team involved in raising money through an annual car wash, can drive, pool party or by volunteering at local events.  It would also be ideal for the team to do some  community service volunteering.  This person would be responsible for coordinating these efforts.

Game Day Organizer:  This person will make sure that we have enough volunteers for home game concessions, make sure that we have a game announcer, scoreboard operator and scorer for our home games.

Webmaster:  Currently Men’s Skyline Swim Coach Sean Hickman is hosting the Skyline Water Polo information on his swim site.  It would be a bonus if we could develop our portion of his site or develop our own site.  This volunteer would design and keep the site updated.

Transportation Czar:  This person will coordinate and fill out the required paper work for all transportation that doesn’t involve a school district bus.  Mostly this includes transportation to and from away games in Washtenaw County via private vehicles.  For liability reasons coaches are not allowed to be involved.

Team Photographer:  This person will take the team photo, photograph the team at games and other events and create a video for the banquet.  Bonnie Dean has filled this position for 2009.

Snack or Meal for Visiting Teams:   It is tradition for the home team to provide a snack or meal after the game for the away team.  This person will organize volunteers to help with this for our home games.  Tina Gray has volunteered to do this for our October 10th clinic with U of M.

Team Banquet:   This person will organize and schedule the year end team banquet which will be potluck style in the Skyline Commons.  The banquet will include the premier of the team DVD and team awards.  Simple cost effective decorations are encouraged.

Team Suits and Apparel:  Someone needs to arrange, order and deliver team suits and apparel.  Ann Dahlmann and Patti Silveri have volunteered to do this for 2009.

We all look forward to working with you to build on the water polo foundation that we started last year.  Please let Ben know if you are interested in any of the above positions.  Please call Ben at 741-0011 or e-mail him at bendahlmann@campusinn.com if you are interested in any of these positions.

Yours truly,

Coach Ben, Coach Tom and Coach Mike
